Back To Old Map.

Our permanent new map will not be here until after MineCon (November 18?), as Notch is not releasing another main update for Minecraft until then. (The 1.9 update will be the final main release).
SO, I thought now's a good time to have some fun.
What kind of fun?
I'm sure most of you are aware of the Super Hostile series of Minecraft Survival Maps.
I'm going to be replacing our map with these, choosing a new map once all challenges for the current map are completed.

So, starting some time today, you'll all be struggling to complete The Black Desert, the first challenge.
If Faelar want's to somehow explain what the hells happening RP wise, he can, or he can put the main RP story line to a pause, it's up to him.

One last thing;
All mods and admins will have all commands removed, except kick and ban. Including myself.
I want this map to challenge everyone. And it will.
Oh yeah.
No warps.
And no /home.
Have fun!

Hint: It's not called the BLACK Desert for no reason.


The Challenge:


The main objective of my maps is to find and complete the Victory
Monument. This is a structure with slots on it for blocks. To win a
Super Hostile map, you must place each of the requested blocks in the
appropriate slot on the Victory Monument. There are 16 colors of wool
blocks to find, and also the 3 material blocks, of iron, gold, and
diamond.

Super Hostile Standard Rules:

1) Find and complete the Victory Monument.
2) Find wool in chests scattered around the map, do NOT use dyes or spider string for wools!
3) You may craft the Iron, Gold, and Diamond blocks.
4) Use at least Easy difficulty, and never Peaceful.
5) Do not leave the boundaries of the map and go into normally generated Minecraft terrain.
6) Survive in any way you can think of. (Yes, you can mine, craft, and place blocks.)
7) You may use spider string wool and sheep wool to craft beds and other items, but not for the Victory Monument.
8) I hate you, die in a fire.

For the most part, Super Hostile is like playing Minecraft normally, but
it's more difficult and you have a long-term goal to work towards.
Also you may find yourself in some unusual terrain. Oh, and the map is
designed to kill you, so keep that in mind.

Back to current map until I fix Permissions, and so the Halloween event can take place.
Victory Monument on the Black Desert was completed, with minimal cheating. (2 Wool blocks were obtained due to godmode).

Well, I think its an interesting thing to do whilst RP is on hold, as nothing else we do is really going to stay.

Well, lets do this (And maybe DL the mao and cartograph it too... Nah, stuff that. More fun to just find shit.

Well, had a productive night/morning last night/morning. Moved into the Haven we've built, went across the the old ghast area, which most will notice is far quieter now. That is because Evereth and I broke the Ghasts spawners that were flooding the place. In addition, I built a passage that pushed forward under the ghast fire to a ton of iron, so if anyone ever needs Iron, go there. Mobs free 100% so far. And then we found an obsidian wall. I CBF digging through it.

Edit: Ok, I thought it was just the server crashing last night, but I may have the same problem Raptor had on the normal map or something, but hopefully without crashing the server. I log in, I fall through void, I disconnect. A note to all: Do not walk too far. I'm guessing thats what I've done...

Also in conjunction with Joccaren, making towers to the obsidian cloud layer, and walking ontop of it also causes that problem to occur....


And You can't make a castle on that layer....frownie face.... :(

I'd rather put it on pause, but I would really like to at least have spawnmob working, so that if I can't do the other events I have planned within the time limit, I can at least RP out the second cataclysm..

I am starting to feel discouraged at my lack of resources...As much as I want to set my awesome plans into motion for the communities enjoyment, I cannot.

Frazz could enable /home for you and you could do that.

Frazz could enable /home for you and you could do that.
It is enabled, last I checked. Frazz wasn't able to break it. Tried to do warp home, after setting mine in the town, but I just got the failed recieve error.

A word of caution on the normal map. Creepers are currently up, and warps have dissolved.

Our map isn't prepared for not having warps, If you want to take them away lets decide on that for the next map not this one.

I have an idea for the new map: instead of having warps (except maybe /home please) allow us to use zan's minimap mod so we can have waypoints to all important places?

Well, I'm pretty sure that minimap mods are perfectly allowed in our server anyway.
