Halloween Contest: The Sugar Rush, And the Rise of the Faceless Footman

Post by Faelar Laelither on Tue Oct 04, 2011 1:11 am

Searching the ashes of his old tower, Faelar retrieved from the detritus a tome he had retrieved several months ago. Within this tome, some records of civilizations past were held. Leafing through the ash covered pages, he discovered a page describing a festivity involving the hoarding of sugar to use in a ritual offering to the Frazzled One. Taking this into consideration, Faelar decided to propose this event to lift the spirits of civilization.

Ladies and Gentlemen, today a holiday contest has been proposed. Some may recognize this as being similar to the spring contest of collecting eggs, and now the Holloween Sugar Rush shall begin.

Your goal is remarkably simple- You must collect as much sugar as you can by holloween. If you succeed in collecting the most sugar, you will recieve an EPIC prize as a reward for your diligent rush to obtain masses of sugar, which will probably be given to you in the new map.

Once Holloween comes, we will celebrate by tossing pounds and pounds of sugar in the burning altar of The Frazzled One. There will be cake.

Oh, I'm definitely participating. I have a nice big set-up for collecting massive amounts of sugar. :3

While this sounds interesting... it brings back old memories on my old server where people would sell sugar to iConomy. I think somewhere around 300,000 sugar was sold on one map cycle alone, a bit disturbing if you ask me. (This was way before pistons. Giant sections of the map were dedicated to sugar farming) I'll probably be sitting out knowing someone else will be able to harvest more sugar than I can, though I do wish the best of luck to everyone.

Hehehe, if you know a way to do so without pistons, then fine. But pistons would have far too much clutter...

I disagree, I can organize the clutter. I have patented the idea with the name "Clean Cluttering", look it up.

Hehehe. Well Kai, I can gather about a double chest every 10 minutes that I gather atm, but I keep getting sidetracked. Now, if only I had a way to quickly turn reeds into sugar... This inventory process is actually quite slow >.>

I simply use a macro, which can process a stack of 64 in about 1/2 a second. Rapid fire clicks are win.

I do. It still takes upwards of 10 minutes to convert 5 double chests of Reed into sugar.

..Macros? Those hardly seem acceptable, as not everyone has access to them.
