Scope showed me this, It's on Notch's Tumblr

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

No to bill S. 978!
I say no because I upload Minecraft and soon other games but if this bill passes this will affect a few favorite things
It will completely STOP Machinima.
It will stop the Shadow Of Israphel.

But I don't want to come off as alarming or terrified.
Just sign the damn form :P

Already done. Seems this is spreading rather quickly through internet. Something tells me the guys proposing this bill are going to want to rethink they're proposal, or at least make it more detailed and fair.

Also, they may want to beware of Anonymous

youtube servers are hosted in US thus yes it will affect you as they won't have the legal right to allow people to upload gameplay vids

Not to mention ALL the U.S. Let's Players and Streamers will have to take down their videos and won't be able to upload again... So yeah, it affects everyone sadly.

Because YouTube is only one site - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] There are no sites for particular countries like .co.uk and .de etc. The site is international.

It's .co.nz because (AFAIK) the host is in New Zealand and therefore .co.nz was an available option for the end of the address, to signify the host country.

I was talking about sites like Google which have [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] as their international/American site, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] as their English one, etc etc.
YouTube don't do that.

even if it was hosted in another country it would be blocked in the US and as we all know, w/e the US do everyone ends up doing.

Reject S. 978, "A bill to amend the criminal penalty provision for criminal infringement of a copyright".

The problem being that the bill is so broad. The point is that although this bill is not intended to stop us posting videos of gameplay from games (which is a HUGE advertisement opportunity which companies do not want to lose), it will still be considered a felony (Also is this list are, performances such as talent quests and trailers that are re-hosted or remade). This is due to the ambiguous wording the bill uses, and its lack of detail.

Honestly it wasn't made for going against Let's Play and Streaming, it's for protecting TV, Film, music, etc. However, like Kairus said it's WAY too broad to do any good.

I am still worried, however, because it has been proven time and time again that the unthinkable DOES happen.
