District names!

Post by Sealand on Thu Sep 19, 2013 8:47 am

So as construction on Dawnfire is slowly rolling around to the opening of the city(though it’s not entirely finished yet), those of us in the City Council were wondering about district names. We didn’t know if we should have themed names or random named districts for each part of the city.

Some ideas that have been thrown around for themed names are as follows:
- Sky/Outerspace themed(Polaris, Aurora, Eclipse…)
- Color themed(Auburn, Beige, Carmine…)
- Gem themed(Ruby, Diamond, Amethyst…)
- Mineral themed(Iron, Gold, Diamond…)

We’d like to see what other people think, and get more ideas for districts. Eventually we may have a vote for whichever district everyone likes.

Thanks for the help, everybody!

Just gonna throw out a possibility here:

Since the city is named Dawnfire, districts could be named after a combination of terms related to the sun, and to fire. For example, there could be a Polaris or Eclipse district, and an Ember district, and the like.

Well, to also chuck a few ideas (for names):

Cinder/Ash district (no, not what you think, it's just related to fire, shush)
Nova district
Silver district
Blue Rose district (actually a reference there, because of an idea)
Amenity district
Alizarin district (alizarin is a shade of crimson)
Arsenic district
Arylide district (shade of yellow)
Cadmium district
Celeste district (actually a color, I kid you not)
Cerise district
Ebony/Ivory district
Fulvous district
Agate district
Celestine district
Opal district
Hearth district
Pyre district
Dusk district (maybe a sort of shady district, where there's a lot of crime, since it's the opposite of dawn)
Origin district

...and that's all I got for now.
